Sputnik: A Project of Possibilities |
| Information |
Fittings join forces with Glasgow based Russian kinetic sculpture specialists Sharmanka and performer Claire Cunningham to create a fusion of human and machine, a new installation called “Sputnik”.
Commissioned by the Without Walls Consortium SPUTNIK will be available for performances from May 2009.
Taking its name from the early USSR space satellites Sputnik – Russian for Co-Traveller - the installation is inspired by a curious marriage of Gogol’s classic “The Overcoat”, William Gibson’s seminal cyberpunk novel “Neuromancer” and Antoine de Saint Exupery’s The Little Prince!”.
